The year was 1982…April 1st was the day that Karen and Dennis Arakelian opened White House Furniture in a 200 year old historic 3 story
“white house” on Bloomfield Avenue in Fairfield, NJ 30 years ago! Wow! Times were very different…Ronald Reagan was president, terrorism in
the US was unheard of, there was no Internet, there were no cell phones! Most furniture was still made by the hardworking craftsmen of Grand
Rapids, Michigan, New England, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and many other states. Many of the timeless, heirloom quality pieces
White House placed in the fine homes of the area are still being enjoyed by their owners. It will be interesting to see how the “offshore”
merchandise sold in many stores today will fare in 30 years! Karen Arakelian believes her loyal clients who made this 30th anniversary
possible deserve the same quality they purchased in the past from White House and promises to support the American manufacturers who have
survived the “Chinese Invasion” and offer American made goods whenever possible.
